Thanks for such a wonderful review of my Last Landlady, one of two runner-ups in the Big Book award.  Also my little piece in the Worn With Love feature, about a black hat I wore when I went to the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe with my father. How nice to have him AND my grandmother in there…

The book is full of the most marvellous pictures, including some of the Mitfords that I’d never seen (whatever you might think of them they were photogenic).  Publisher Head of Zeus have made it look beautiful.

This is just the best news. Not least because the subject of the book – my grandmother Violet – was a devoted subscriber to Harper’s.
